Angelica Lopez

HOLYOKE, MA (JULY 6, 2020) – Breathing Space Yoga & Mindfulness Studio is pleased to announce that Angelica Lopez has joined our team of yoga teachers, and is offering free weekly trauma-informed recovery yoga classes at Hampden County recovery houses and centers.

Angelica is a Certified Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level. She has also completed a Mindful Resilience Yoga teacher training with the Veteran’s Yoga Project, Yoga 4 Cancer Teacher Training and Transcending Sexual Trauma through Yoga: Online Trauma-Informed Yoga Training. Angelica is offering trauma-informed recovery yoga to the Western Mass Recovery and Wellness Center and to the Gandara Residential Services for Women House in Holyoke.

Trauma-informed recovery yoga classes support those in addiction recovery and/or incarcerated to discover resiliency, confidence, strength, peace, and health. This evidence-based approach to yoga practice has been shown to relieve stress, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression, and to promote empathy, reduce reactivity, and support emotional stability.

Recovery yoga classes are supported by the Seed to Flower Fund for Yoga Service, which is managed by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts and supported by private donations and profits from Breathing Space classes and events.
