This 2-hour workshop acts as a stand-alone training and/or an introduction to the full 8-week course. Our Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT)-based course provides a path to transform your relationship to eating through the practice of mindful eating and living. We will learn in community how to pay attention to what the body really needs, how to experience the full pleasure and taste of food without overeating, and how to release the guilt and struggle so often associated with eating. The goal of the course is to assist you in cultivating mindful awareness and a more balanced and positive relationship to eating with a focus on well-being. This is an evidence-based program founded by Dr. Jean Kristeller. Practices and topics in the course include Mindfulness meditation Eating exercises and meditations Guided imaging Loving kindness and self-compassion practices Education about body image and myths of dieting Weekly home practices Group and self-reflection Two follow-up one-hour coaching sessions Open to all 18 years+, new to Mindful Eating, or returning for a refresher. Dori is founder and owner of the nonprofit Breathing Space Yoga & Mindfulness Studio, located in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Dori is a certified yoga, mindfulness, and MB-EAT teacher, recovery coach, and writer. Dori is dedicated to bringing the wisdom of mindful eating to all, based on her personal experience of struggling with body image and eating issues since childhood. Dori’s approach to teaching are based on decades of mindfulness meditation practice and study of Buddhist philosophy. Dori has an MS in Organization Development from American University, and a BA from Cornell University.
